CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

The Bible teaches that membership in a local church is the way in which Christians follow God’s instructions in the New Testament. Jesus died to purchase the church with his blood (Acts 20:28), and the local church is at the heart of God’s plan to save sinners through the gospel of his son, Jesus Christ.

We hope you will consider attending a membership class at Providence Baptist. You’ll learn about what we believe, the type of church community Christ has built, and why joining a church is a means of God’s grace for your growth as a Christian. If you are interested in membership, contact Brett Middleton below.

Children’s ministry

Sunday School

Sunday school is offered each Sunday at 9 a.m. for children walking-age through 5th grade.Children are divided into two classes: Nursery (walking-age through 4) and Elementary (5 through 5th grade). Each week our curriculum teaches a story from the Bible as we chronologically walk through the entire Bible over the span of three years. We help our children learn that all of the Bible is a continuous story of God’s redemptive plan with Jesus as the hero.

Nursery During Worship

During our Sunday morning worship service, children of all ages are welcome to join their parents. However, children who are walking-age through age 4 may remain in the nursery during the service. During this hour, nursery volunteers will lead children in singing songs, reading, and playing.

Kids Events

Throughout the year, we have seasonal Providence Kids events where our children can gather, play, and learn outside of Sunday mornings.

Safety

All of our children's volunteers have completed background checks, Reducing the Risk training, and are equipped to ensure the safety of your children.

Student ministry

Sunday School

Sunday school is offered each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for students in 6th through 12th grade. Each week our students study a passage of scripture together as we seek to equip them and help them grow in godliness.

Youth Events

Our youth meet monthly for events outside of Sunday mornings. These events are a time for our students to build relationships, have fun, and serve together. These events include game nights, bowling, frisbee golf, and other recreational activities, as well as opportunities to serve together in the Oklahoma City community.
